Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. - Philippians 4:6
We worry. That seems to be a natural part of our emotions. Some of us worry more than others, but we all tend to do it occasionally, just a little bit here and there, and some of us do it most of the time.
How do you feel when you worry? If you are anything like me, worry sucks the joy or fun out of anything that I enjoy because all of my energy has been focused on the worry. Worry can not and will not change a thing. It does not matter if you worry a little or a lot, it will make no difference in the outcome of your circumstance. Taking action makes a difference, worry will not.
I used to worry a lot and I have every reason to worry now, but I know that whatever is out of my control, is what it is. There is nothing I can do about it. If worry helped, all my problems (and I'm sure yours) would be solved. Once I realized that I can do nothing with things out of my control, I was much better off. I let it go. That's not to say that whatever the issue was meant nothing or I didn't care, quite the contrary. I definitely care, but know that I could do nothing about the issue. I gave it to God. That took so much stress and anxiety away that a huge weight was lifted.
When we worry less or better yet, not at all, we can find joy in most things and our overall well being is good.
